PEORIA, Ill. - Sophomore Adele Henke won both her singles and her doubles matcesh against SIU Edwardsville Saturday, but it was not enough as the Braves (0-4) fell 5-2 to the Cougars (4-2).
Bradley took two out of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Henke and freshman Carly Miles won their # 2 doubles match 8-5, while sophomore Meredith McDonagh joined up with freshman Jessie Bertino at # 3 doubles for an 8-6 win.
Henke won easily at # 2 singles 6-1, 6-0, but she was the only Bradley player able to win a singles match. Miles nearly pulled out a three-set win at # 5 singles, but lost in thrilling fashion 6-4, 5-7, 10-12.
Bradley returns to action Sunday at 10 a.m. against Northern Illinois at the Clubs at River City.
