MACOMB, Ill. -- Sophomore Alex Chandler's (Needles, Calif./Needles) bases loaded single in the seventh gave Bradley a 4-2 lead, but Western Illinois' Lia Romeo delivered a bases loaded walk-off double in the bottom half of the inning as the Leathernecks rallied for a 5-4 win over the visiting Braves Wednesday afternoon.

Bradley (11-18 overall) left 11 runners on base, including nine in scoring position in the contest as the Braves suffered their third consecutive one-run loss.  Chandler was 1-for-2 with three RBI in the game, helping highlight an eight-hit day for BU.

Western Illinois (17-14 overall) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after opening the game with back-to-back doubles.  KC Dunne drove in the first run with a double and later scored on an Ashley Campbell single.

After leaving three runners in scoring position in the first two innings, Bradley broke through for a pair in the third to tie it up.  Sophomore Bailiegh Basham (Mattoon, Ill./Mattoon/Lake Land C.C.) drew her conference leading 26th walk of the year and later scored on a Madeline Lynch-Crumrine (Sedro Woolley, Wash./Sedro Woolley) single.  The Braves had a runner thrown out at the plate for the second out of the inning before Chandler drew a two-out bases loaded walk to pull BU even at 2-2.

Junior Mackenzie Camp (Mapleton, Ill./Limestone) gave up just two hits between the second and sixth innings as the teams went into the seventh deadlocked at 2-2.

Three consecutive singles loaded the bases for Chandler, who ripped a one-out, two-run single to center field which drove in sophomore Mariah Cole (Springfield, Ill./Chatham Glenwood) and freshman Shannon King (San Jose, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) to give Bradley its first lead of the game at 4-2.

A Bradley error in the bottom of the seventh would prove costly, however.  Sammy Marshall reached on a one-out error and Dunne followed with her second hit of the day, hitting a single to right field to knock Camp out of the game.  Lynch-Crumrine hit the first batter she faced to load the bases and Romeo delivered the game-winning hit with a three-run, walk-off double to left center as the Leathernecks rallied for the 5-4 win.

Lynch-Crumrine took the loss for Bradley, dropping to 5-11 on the year.  Camp scattered six hits and four runs (three earned) over 6.1 innings in the start.  Hailey Bickford (6-7) earned the win in the circle for Western Illinois giving up two runs over the final 4.1 innings in relief.

The second game of the doubleheader was cancelled due to darkness.

Bradley returns to action Saturday, opening a three-game Missouri Valley Conference series with a noon doubleheader against Evansville at Laura Bradley Park.  A free shuttle for Bradley students for Saturday's doubleheader will leave the Michel Student Center at 11:30 a.m.  The first 100 Bradley students in attendance will receive free pizza (while supplies last) and a t-shirt.
