CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Sophomore pitcher/designated player Madeline Lynch-Crumrine (Sedro-Woolley, Wash./Sedro-Woolley) earned First-Team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors for the second consecutive year announced at the 2012 State Farm MVC Softball Tournament banquet Wednesday.

The only player in The Valley with 10 or more victories and 40 or more hits this season, Lynch-Crumrine is the fourth two-time first-team all-conference selection in program history and first since Kim Suffield earned the distinction in 1999 and 2000.  In addition, Lynch-Crumrine joins Beth Hawkins as the only players in program history to earn first-team all-league honors in both their freshman and sophomore seasons.

The team's top hitter with a .300 batting average, Lynch-Crumrine also leads the team in wins (11), innings pitched (190.1), strikeouts (82) and ERA (2.68).  In Missouri Valley Conference play, she hit .307 and tied for the team lead with 15 RBI, while going 6-7 in the circle with a team-best 2.71 ERA.

Lynch-Crumrine is the second player in school history to win 10 or more games and collect 40 or more hits at the plate in a season, joining Amy Elza who had 16 wins and 51 hits in 1996.  Her 190.1 innings pitched this season are the most by a BU hurler since Ashley Birdsong threw a school season-record 232 innings in 2009 and ranks as the eighth most innings pitched in program history.

Earlier this season, she earned all-tournament honors at the Phyllis Rafter Memorial Tournament in Woodstock, Ga.  Lynch-Crumrine is third on the team with 20 RBI this spring and is hitting .327 with seven runs and nine RBI over the last 14 games.

Bradley will face #6 seed Missouri State Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the opening round of the 2012 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in Carbondale, Ill.  The winner will advance to play #3 seed Drake at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the second round.
