ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Senior women's golfer Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) is the sixth three-time First-Team Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete in program history after the recent announcement of the league's scholar-athlete team.

A two-time all-conference performer and 2010-11 MVC Golfer of the Year, Amundrud battled a season-long back injury to finish third on the team in 2011-12 with a 78.3 stroke average and tied for 22nd at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championship in her final season on The Hilltop.

Amundrud finished out her career with the lowest stroke average in school history (77.11) and school-record 87 rounds in the 70's.  This season she finished in the top 20 in three of nine tournaments and shared MVC Golfer of the Week honors after tying for sixth at the Lady Moc Classic to open the spring schedule.  Amundrud's 78.3 stroke average is the 14th best season average in school history and she owns three of the top 10 season stroke averages at Bradley.

A six-time MVC Golfer of the Week selection during her career, she is a two-time Capital One Academic All-District V selection and garnered Third-Team Capital One Academic All-America honors last year as a junior.  An accounting major, Amundrud owns a 3.94 cumulative grade point average.

Bradley has had at least one player earn first-team MVC scholar-athlete honors in a conference record 15 consecutive years.  BU has also produced a league record six three-time MVC Scholar-Athletes.

During the 15-year run, 11 Bradley student-athletes have garnered a total of 24 first-team scholar-athlete awards, eight better than Southern Illinois' 16 first-team scholar-athlete picks during that same time. In fact, the Braves boast a total of 22 first-team scholar-athletes since the start of the 1999-2000 season, which is eight more than any other MVC member over that span. Bradley is second all-time in MVC women's golf scholar-athlete selections (25), behind Southern Illinois' Valley record 26 and the Braves have six more Valley scholar-athlete picks than any other league member.

The criteria for the MVC scholar-athlete team parallels the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) standards for academic Capital One Academic All-America® program. Nominees must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale), while the student-athletes must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institutions and must have participated in at least 50 percent of her team's rounds or played at the State Farm MVC Championship.
