NORFOLK, Neb. -- Freshman women's golfer Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) earned her 12th Nebraska state title, winning her fourth consecutive Nebraska Girls' Amateur Championship at the Norfolk Country Club last week.
Lemek, who won the title by seven shots, held a two-shot lead on the field after an opening round 72 after firing four birdies. She carded three birdies in the final eight holes of Tuesday's final round to match her first round 72 and finish at 144. Sarah Jo Pravecek of Omaha was second at 151.
The Nebraska Girls' Amateur title was Lemek's fourth consecutive win in the tournament and comes a few weeks after becoming the first 4-time winner of the Nebraska Girls' Match Play Championship. In addition, she won four consecutive Class C state individual championships during her high school career.
Lemek is scheduled to play in the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., this weekend and the Junior PGA Championship in Fort Wayne, Ind., later this month.
