PEORIA, Ill. -- The 2012-13 Bradley women's basketball schedule is complete with the announcement of the 18-game Missouri Valley Conference regular-season schedule.
The Braves will open Valley play on the road for the sixth time in the last seven seasons and 10th time in the last 13 campaigns, when BU visits Indiana State for a Jan. 4 contest in Terre Haute, Ind. Bradley will face the Sycamores in the conference opener for the first time since 2003-04 in the first league game for first-year BU head coach Mike Brooks. A two-game Valley road swing concludes with a Jan. 6 contest at I-74 rival Illinois State.
A season-long, three-game home stand begins Jan. 10 against Wichita State and also includes contests against Missouri State (Jan. 12) and Northern Iowa (Jan. 18).
Road games at Drake (Jan. 25) and Creighton (Jan. 27) fall before the Braves close out the first half of Valley play at home with tilts against Evansville (Jan. 31) and Southern Illinois (Feb. 2).
Bradley will open the second half of the conference slate on the road at defending MVC regular-season champ Missouri State (Feb. 8). A three-game road swing continues with a Feb. 10 game at Wichita State and wraps up Feb. 17 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, against Northern Iowa.
The Braves will play four of the final six league games at home beginning with a Feb. 21 game vs. Drake. Creighton visits Renaissance Coliseum on Feb. 23 and BU kicks off the final road swing of the year March 1 at Southern Illinois. The final road game of the year is scheduled for March 3 at Evansville.
The annual I-74 series with Illinois State concludes March 7 at Renaissance Coliseum and Bradley closes out the regular-season March 9 against Indiana State in the latest regular-season game in program history. The Braves will finish the regular-season with a home game against the Sycamores for the second time in three years and third time in the last 10 seasons.
