PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley men's golf team returns to action from a near three-week break to continue its fall schedule Monday and Tuesday at the Butler Fall Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind.
The Braves, which will be playing in the Butler Fall Invite for the first time since the 2009-10 season, have shot under 290 in the first round in each of the first two outings of the year and look to continue their strong play as they near the end of the fall slate.
Joining Bradley in the tournament field at the par-70 Highland Country Club in Indianapolis, Ind., will be Missouri Valley Conference foe Evansville, in state opponent Eastern Illinois, IUPUI and tournament-host Butler. Monday's action will tee off at 7:30 a.m. (CDT) and include two rounds of play, while the tournament wraps up Tuesday with a single round also starting at 7:30 a.m. (CDT). Both days will feature shotgun starts.
Junior Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) has led the Braves in each of the first two outings of the 2013-14 season and was named the MVC Golfer of the Week back on Sept. 18 after taking medalist honors at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate in Normal, Ill. He currently leads the Missouri Valley Conference with a 72.0 stroke average and has carded 15 consecutive rounds in the 70's dating back to last season.
Freshman Bobby Jacobs (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) has been impressive in his first two collegiate tournaments and will be playing in his home state for the first time as a Brave. Jacobs is averaging 74.17 strokes per round on the young season and has shot 77 or better in each of his first six rounds at Bradley.
Junior Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) is one of four Bradley players to card sub-80 rounds in each of their six efforts this season and enters the Butler Fall Invite with a 75.33 stroke average. Senior Daniel Young (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) is on Masrin's heels with a 75.67 season average and moved into 19th in school history with his 60th career round in the 70's at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate last month.
Following the Butler Fall Invitational, Bradley concludes the fall schedule Oct. 14 & 15 at the Dayton Flyer Invitational in Kettering, Ind.
