PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University will serve as host for the 2014 NCAA Midwest Cross Country Regional announced by the NCAA earlier this week.  The Braves will host a NCAA Regional for the sixth time in school history and next year's event will mark the fourth time in an 11-year span Newman Golf Course will serve as the site for a NCAA Regional.

The NCAA announced cross country regional sites through the 2017 season Wednesday, with next year's event scheduled for Friday, Nov. 14, 2014.  Bradley will host a NCAA Regional for the first time since 2010 and the 2014 race will mark the third time in eight years the Braves have hosted a regional championship.  In addition, Newman Golf Course will be the setting for a Missouri Valley Conference or NCAA Regional Championship for the fourth time in eight seasons, with Bradley also hosting the 2009 Valley Championship and 2007 NCAA Regional.

“We are honored to be selected to host the 2014 Midwest Region Championships,” said Bradley cross country/track and field head coach Marc Burns.  “Bradley has a rich tradition of hosting this event and we will work hard to put on another great event for the members of our region.  It will be very exciting to see our seniors finish their careers on our home course.  Thanks to our staff for putting together a successful bid and to the NCAA for choosing Bradley."
