PEORIA, Ill. -- Fans are asked to wear pink to Saturday's 2 p.m. Bradley women's basketball game when the Braves take on pre-season Missouri Valley Conference favorite Creighton at Renaissance Coliseum in BU's annual "pink" game.  The theme for the 10th annual "pink" game is Go Pink, Go Bradley.

Bradley (11-13 overall, 5-8 MVC) will wear pink uniforms for the game and fans are encouraged to wear pink to the contest, which will feature several promotions for those in attendance to help promote breast cancer awareness.

Promotions include:

  • "Red + White = Pink" bracelets for the first 1,000 fans and breast cancer survivors.
  • A limited number of "Red + White = Pink" t-shirts ($10) will be available for sale with proceeds benefitting the Susan G. Komen Memorial Affiliate.
  • An auction of pink uniforms worn at last year's event.
  • Fans can win prizes as part of a post-game pink ball toss.
  • Pink lemonade will be sold at the Renaissance Coliseum concessions stands with 100 percent of the proceeds to benefit the Susan G. Komen Memorial Affiliate.
  • The opportunity to sign up for 2013 Race for the Cure "Team Bradley" as a walker, runner or spirit walker.
  • Breast cancer survivors will receive free admission (tickets must be claimed in advance at the Renaissance Coliseum Box Office) and will be recognized in a halftime ceremony.
  • The Methodist Mamovan will be open outside Renaissance Coliseum courtesy of Methodist Medical Center, the preferred medical provider of Bradley Athletics.
  • Female Braves Club members receive a complimentary glass of pink champagne courtesy of Nixon Insurance in the Braves Club room (must show membership card)

In addition to the promotions, Bradley head coach Michael Brooks will donate $25 for every Bradley three-point basket made during the game and fans are encouraged to also donate to the Coach's Challenge (at any dollar value), which will benefit the Susan G. Komen Memorial Affiliate.  Fans can register at the game or email busportsmarketing@bradley.edu to make a donation.

The Braves have a three-game home win streak after Thursday's 93-84 victory against Drake and have won four of the last five games overall heading into the matchup with Creighton (19-6 overall, 11-3 MVC).  Bradley is seventh in the Valley standings, one game behind sixth-place Evansville.

Since the season's first meeting with Creighton, sophomore Michelle Young (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury) has averaged 10.1 points on 47 percent shooting and 2.1 steals per game.  Young had 12 points, three rebounds and three steals against the Bluejays in Omaha, Neb., on Jan. 27 and is coming off a career-best 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting along with a career-high five steals against Drake Thursday.

Senior Katie Yohn (Elgin, Ill./St. Edward) enters Saturday's matchup needing 10 points to pass Genny Mueller for ninth on Bradley's career scoring list after an 18-point effort Thursday against Drake pushed her career scoring total to 1,260 points.  Yohn, who has nine steals in the last two games, has averaged 3.3 steals per game in the last eight games.

Following Saturday's game, Bradley opens the final road swing of the regular season next Friday at Southern Illinois (7 p.m.) in Carbondale, Ill.
