AMES, Iowa -- The Bradley women's track and field team turned in five top-10 performances in program history, with three individuals running top-10 times in the 800 meters to highlight Friday's action at the Iowa State Classic.
In the 800 meters, freshman Rachel Sudbury (Tomahawk, Wis./Tomahawk) ran the fifth fastest time in school history, crossing the line in a time of 2:14.79 to finish eighth overall, while sophomore Hannah Booker (Tremont, Ill./Tremont) was on her heels in ninth at 2:14. 93. Sophomore Taylor Johnson (Lincoln, Neb./Southeast) also posted a top-10 time in school history in the event, finishing 11th at 2:15.33.
Earlier in the day, freshman Kristen Busch (Waterloo, Ill./Freeburg) turned in the top time of the season for Bradley in the mile. Busch was seventh overall and sixth in her heat with a career-best time of 5:02.87. Her time ranks 10th among career-best times in program history. Freshman Lauren Houmes (Hoopeston, Ill./Hoopeston) paced three other Braves who set season-best times in the mile, finishing second in her heat and 21st overall with a time of 5:10.43.
Junior Cassie Lohmeier (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) got the day started out a strong note, finishing 15th in the 3,000 meters with a season-best time of 10:10.36. Lohmeier's time was four seconds off her career-best time run last year. In the other 3,000 meter heat, freshman Caitlin Pribble (Morton, Ill./Morton) was three seconds off her season-best time, clocking a 10:39.02 to finish 14th in her heat.
The Braves capped the day with a season-best time in the distance medley relay. The group of Kristen Busch, Sudbury, Booker and sophomore Sarah McMahon (Colfax, Wis./Colfax) took sixth in the distance medley relay with the sixth fastest time in school history at 12:04.16
Sophomore Dana Markech (Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) was Bradley's lone runner in the 60-meter hurdles, placing seventh in her heat at 10.12 seconds.
McMahon will close out action at the Iowa State Classic for the Braves Saturday afternoon in the 3,000 meters.
