SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Sophomore Sarah McMahon (Colfax, Wis./Colfax) beat her career-best time in the 3,000 meters by four seconds and fellow sophomore Kyela Specht (Munster, Ind./Munster) ran a career-best time in the 800 meters to highlight action for the Bradley women's track and field team at the Alex Wilson Invitational Saturday.

McMahon was fourth in the 3,000 meters Saturday morning with a career-best time of 9:39.07, turning in the second fastest performance in school history.  Her time was less than four seconds off Bradley All-American Mary Ellen Hill's school record of 9:39.61 set in 1999.

Specht also helped highlight the day for the Braves, beating her career-best time in the 800 meters to finish fifth in her heat.  Her time of 2:12.85 topped her previous career-best time set last week by almost one second and ranks fifth among Bradley career-best marks.

The Bradley women's track and field opens the outdoor track and field season March 22 and 23 at the Vanderbilt Black & Gold Invitational.
