ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Junior Madeline Lynch-Crumrine (Sedro-Woolley, Wash./Sedro-Woolley) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week according to an announcement by the league office Monday afternoon.

Lynch-Crumrine earned MVC Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this season after posting a 2-0 record and is the first Bradley player to earn Valley Pitcher of the Week twice in the same season since Ashley Birdsong in 2007.

Bradley's leader with nine victories on the year, Lynch-Crumrine pitched a pair of complete game shutouts last week, boasting a perfect 0.00 ERA in her two appearances.  She blanked Illinois-Chicago for eight innings, scattering eight hits and six strikeouts in a 1-0 victory against the Flames.  Lynch-Crumrine followed it up with a three-hit shutout Saturday against Wichita State in the MVC opener, striking out three Shockers and allowing just one walk.

Lynch-Crumrine has thrown complete game shutouts in three of her last four appearances and helped Bradley pitchers combine to go 21 consecutive innings without surrendering a run before Saturday's 2-0 loss to Wichita State.

Over her last five starts, Lynch-Crumrine is 4-1 with a 1.66 ERA, with the lone loss to then 16th-ranked Washington.  She has struck out 24 batters in her last 33.2 innings of work, while allowing just five walks and holding foes to a .224 batting average during that stretch.

Lynch-Crumrine and the Braves are slated to return to action Friday, opening a three-game home stand with a 2 p.m. doubleheader against Indiana State at Laura Bradley Park.
