PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior pitcher Madeline Lynch-Crumrine (Sedro-Woolley, Wash./Sedro-Woolley) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Wednesday, after picking up a pair of wins last week.
Lynch-Crumrine, who was named the MVC Pitcher of the Week Monday, tossed a pair of complete game shutouts, boasting a perfect 0.00 ERA in two outings last week. She blanked Illinois-Chicago for eight innings, scattering eight hits and six strikeouts in the complete game shutout. Lynch-Crumrine followed it up with a three-hit shutout against Wichita State in the Valley opener for the Braves, striking out three and allowing one walk. A psychology major, Lynch-Crumrine owns a 3.33 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Lynch-Crumrine and the Bradley softball team are scheduled to open a three-game home stand Friday with a 2 p.m. doubleheader against Indiana State at Laura Bradley Park.
