SEATTLE, Wash. -- Junior Bailiegh Basham (Mattoon, Ill./Mattoon/Lake Land C.C.) hit a three-run homer in the first inning and Washington state native Madeline Lynch-Crumrine (Sedro-Woolley, Wash./Sedro-Woolley) gave up three unearned runs to earn the win in her first collegiate game in her home state to help power Bradley to a 7-3 win at Seattle Thursday night.

Lynch-Crumrine struck out five and walked one, giving up three unearned runs in the bottom of the fourth after a Bradley (11-9 overall) error to open the inning.  The Braves had already staked Lynch-Crumrine to a 5-0 lead as she improved to 6-5 on the year with the complete game victory.

Junior Brianne Joseph (Post Falls, Idaho/Post Falls) helped get things going for Bradley, which won for the third time in four outings, with a single to lead off the game.  Sophomore Brittany Burgess (Utica, Ill./St. Bede) followed with a single and Basham gave the Braves a 3-0 lead with her team-leading third home run of the year.

Seattle (8-11 overall) managed just a single off Lynch-Crumrine in the first three innings and Bradley's lead stood at 5-0 after the Braves added two more runs in the top of the fourth.  After getting things started in the first for BU, Joseph provided the big hit in the fourth with a two-run single.  Lynch-Crumrine led off the frame with a single and sophomore Shannon King (San Jose, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) later had a two-out double to left, before Joseph drove in both runners with the second of her three hits.

A Bradley error to lead off the bottom half of the inning helped lead to three Seattle runs as the Redhawks cut the Braves advantage to 5-3.

Bradley added a pair of insurance runs in the top of the sixth inning to push the lead to 7-3 and Lynch-Crumrine held Seattle to just to just one hit in the final three innings to cruise to the win.  In the BU half of the sixth, King had a one-out single and Joseph followed with her third hit of the game.  Pinch runner Mariah Cole (Springfield, Ill./Chatham Glenwood) scored on a Seattle error and sophomore Alyson Clemente (Murrieta, Calif./Murrieta Valley) drove in her team-best 19th run of the year with a sacrifice fly to center.

Joseph went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI to help lead a Bradley offense which collected 11 hits.  Clemente had a 2-for-3 day at the plate to up her season batting average to .443 and King also went 2-for-3.  Basham was 2-for-2 with a run and three RBI, in addition to tying the Bradley career record for hit by pitch (16) in just her 69th career game as a Brave.

Mandie Sugita took the loss for Seattle, giving up 11 hits and seven runs (five earned) in five-and-one-third innings to fall to 1-4 on the year.

Bradley returns to action Friday at noon (CST), facing New Mexico in Seattle, Wash., in the opening game of the Husky Softball Classic.
