Seth Trolia Shares MVC Golfer Of The Week Honors

Men's Golf Tied For 11th At Kemper Intercollegiate

GLENVIEW, Ill. – Sophomore Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) matched a season-best with a second-round 72 to help highlight the opening day of play for the Bradley men's golf team at the Kemper Intercollegiate Monday.  The Braves finished Monday's action tied for 11th.

Trolia followed up a morning round 79 with a 72 at the par-72 Glen Club to close Monday's play tied for 31st at 151 and was one of four Bradley individuals to improve their score in the second round.

Fellow sophomore Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarata International School) fired the low score in the first round, carding a two-over 74 and is two shots back of Trolia in a tie for 40th at 153 after a second-round 79.

Junior Daniel Young (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) also had a strong effort in the afternoon with a one-over 73 after a morning round 83.  Young is tied for 51st in the 77-person field with a two-round total of 156. 

Andrew Weisenborn (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) extended his streak of sub-80 rounds to seven with scores of 79 and 78.  He is one behind Young at 157 in a tie for 55th heading into Tuesday's final round.  Kyle Gunther (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Christian) completed the team scoring for the Braves, ending the day tied for 63rd (159) after rounds of 80 and 79 Monday.

Tournament-host Northwestern has a seven-shot advantage on the field after 36 holes, finishing Monday with a two-round score of 567.  Ohio State is seven shots back in second at 573 and Illinois State is third in the team standings 590.  DePaul is fourth going into the final round at 597, with IUPUI four back in fifth (601).

St. John's is 11 shots ahead of Bradley in sixth (603), while Ohio (7th – 604), Marquette (8th – 606), Northern Illinois (9th – 609) and Western Illinois (10th – 613) round out the top 10, respectively.  The Braves turned in rounds of 312 and 302 to climb into a tie with Loyola-Chicago for 11th at 614.  Dayton is 13th at 617 and Chicago State completes the field in 14th (712). 

Bradley concludes the Kemper Intercollegiate Tuesday with one round of play, beginning at 8 a.m.
