WALNUT, Calif. – Sophomores Sarah McMahon (Colfax, Wis./Colfax) and Eric Delvo (Springfield, Ill./Sacred Heart Griffin) both turned in top five times in program history to help highlight Thursday's action at the Mt. Sac Relays for the Bradley track and field teams.
McMahon nearly broke Mary Ellen Hill's school record in the 10,000 meters, finishing 10th in her heat with a career-best time of 34:53.16. The time was less than three seconds off Mary Ellen Hill's school record time of 34:50.62 set in 2000 and is second all-time in program history.
Delvo also turned in one of the top performances in school history, clocking the fourth fastest 1,500 meter time in school history. He finished third in his heat of the men's 1,500 meters with a career-best time of 3:53.40, crossing the line less than two seconds off Chris George's 2007 school record pace of 3:51.59.
In the women's 1,500 meters, sophomore Taylor Johnson (Lincoln, Neb./Southeast) also turned in a career-best effort, taking eighth in her heat with a time of 4:37.30. Johnson's time was the best on the squad this season and is 11th among career-best times in school history.
Junior Nathan Davis (Lewistown, Ill./Lewistown) was slated to run in the men's 10,000 meters late Thursday night and the Braves will have individuals in both the women's 800 meters and women's 5,000 meters Friday at the Mt. Sac Relays.
