LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. – Freshman Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) sits atop the individual leaderboard after shooting a four-over 76 and the Bradley women's golf team is third in the team standings, three shots back of Wichita State, after one round of play at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship Sunday.

Lemek broke the Bradley season record for rounds in the 70's with her 28th sub-80 round of the year, helping the Braves shoot 328 on the opening day at the par-72 Club at Porto Cima.  Wichita State is first in the team standings with a 325 and Southern Illinois finished Sunday's action in second at 326.

Bradley, which shot a first-round 328, is two shots better than fourth-place Indiana State (330) and has a four-shot advantage on tournament-host and fifth-place Missouri State (332).  Illinois State will start Monday's second round eight shots off the lead in sixth (333) and Evansville is seventh overall at 336.  Creighton ended the day in eighth after 18 holes with a score of 341, while Northern Iowa (9th – 349) and Drake (10th – 352) complete the field, respectively.

Lemek entered the MVC Tournament with a league-best 75.0 stroke average and fired a four-over 76 to hold a one-shot advantage on second-place Katie Jean (77) of Illinois State.  Sophomore Thea Hedemann (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan/Walter Murray) is one of five individuals tied for third in the field and was the only other Bradley player to shoot in the 70's, carding a 78 Sunday.

Prospect) is two back of Lin in a tie for 36th after shooting an 88.  Freshman Jenna Roadley (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Sturgeon Heights), who owns a 79.4 average over her last seven rounds, was disqualified from the opening round, but  will return to the lineup for Monday's second round.

Second-round action at the MVC Championship is slated to begin at 9 a.m. (CDT) Monday morning.
