LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. – Sophomore Christie Lin fired a one-under 71 to climb into a tie for third and the Bradley women's golf team is tied for third after two rounds of play at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship Monday.
Lin's second-round 71 at the par-72 Club at Porto Cima is the lowest round of the tournament and lowest round by a Bradley player at the Valley Championship since Bari Erais shot a pair of 70's at the 2007 Championship at WeaverRidge Golf Club. Lin moved into a tie for third in the individual standings at 157 and is six shots back of co-leaders Cassie Rushing (Southern Illinois) and Katie Jean (Illinois State), who finished Monday's play at 151.
The Braves tied for the second lowest round of the day with a 317 and are tied with tournament-host Missouri State for third at 645. Bradley finished the day, three shots out of the lead behind Wichita State (642). Southern Illinois is second in the team standings two shots ahead of the Braves at 643.
Illinois State rounds out the top half of the team standings in fifth (650), with Indiana State closing Monday's action in sixth (663). Evansville is seventh overall at 687, while Creighton (8th – 689), Northern Iowa (9th – 693) and Drake (10th – 696) complete the field, respectively.
Freshman Danielle Lemek entered the day atop the individual standings, but slipped into a tie for fifth (158) after a second-round 82. Sophomore Thea Hedemann carded an 85 to finish the day tied for 16th (163).
Freshman Allison Walsh is tied for 21st at 167, shooting a 79 Monday and fellow freshman Jenna Roadley returned to the lineup to shoot an 88 and is 49th overall.
The third and final round of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship begins Tuesday at 9 a.m.
