PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior pitcher/outfielder Madeline Lynch-Crumrine (Sedro-Woolley, Wash./Sedro-Woolley) has been named a First-Team All-Mideast Region selection for the second consecutive year, according to an announcement by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Thursday.

One of four players in school history to earn NFCA All-Region recognition, Lynch-Crumrine is the first two-time all-region selection in program history after also garnering First-Team All-Mideast Region honors last year as a sophomore.  Ashley Birdsong (2009), Laura Harms (2004) and Kim Suffield (2000) are the only other all-region performers in school history.

Lynch-Crumrine was a Second-Team All-Missouri Valley Conference honoree this spring as she joined Beth Hawkins and Julie Jehle as the only three-time all-conference selections at Bradley.  One of two players in the MVC with 14 or more victories and 28 or more hits at the plate, Lynch-Crumrine was a two-time MVC Pitcher of the Week during the 2013 season and was the first BU hurler to win Valley Pitcher of the Week twice in the same season since Birdsong accomplished the feat in 2007.

The team leader in ERA (3.08), wins (14), appearances (39), starts (31), complete games (23), shutouts (4), innings pitched and strikeouts (133), she ranked fifth in the league in ERA and her 218.1 innings pitched was third in the Valley.   Lynch-Crumrine is the first Bradley pitcher with 10 or more wins in back-to-back seasons since Birdsong in 2006 & 2007, while her career-high 133 strikeouts rank as the eighth best season mark at Bradley.

A .267 hitter on the year, Lynch-Crumrine had five doubles, two triples and one home run in addition to owning a team-best nine-game hit streak in 2013.  She finished with a 2.97 ERA in MVC play and tied Bradley season records for pitching starts.  Four of Lynch-Crumrine's 14 victories in 2013 came against teams which advanced to the NCAA Tournament, including a complete game win against 13th-ranked Arizona during the opening weekend of the season.

Lynch-Crumrine enters her senior season as the team's active career leader in at bats, hits, victories, innings pitched, strikeouts and ERA.  Her 536.2 career innings pitched is sixth all-time at BU and her 288 career strikeouts ranks as the seventh highest career total on The Hilltop.  In addition, she is eighth all-time at Bradley with 29 wins and needs 11 victories to become the fifth player in school history with 40 or more wins.
