PEORIA, Ill. -- Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf Coach of the Year Mary Swanson will have one freshman on the 2013-14 roster, with Thursday's announcement that Paige Jordan (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) has signed a National Letter of Intent during the Spring Signing Period.
A three-time all-conference honoree, Jordan was the 2012 Kane County Chronicle Player of the Year after a 23rd-place finish at the IHSA State Championship. She advanced to the IHSA State Championship after winning individual medalist honors at the Crystal Lake Regional at the Golf Club of Illinois last October.
“I'm excited about the competitiveness and team experience that Paige brings to our program,” said Swanson. “She is a team player with a passion for the game. I'm looking forward to helping her reach her goals over her career on The Hilltop.”
Jordan also claimed medalist honors at the Barrington Invitational to open her senior season, carding a 71. A two-time team MVP and team captain at St. Charles East, she posted five top-10 Illinois Junior Golf Association finishes last summer.
In addition to her success on the court, Jordan was a three-time letterwinner in basketball.
Jordan is the only signee for the Braves this year and will join a squad which is expected to return its top eight players from 2012-13. Bradley tied for third at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship this spring, five shots out of the lead.
