PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley will serve as host for the 2014 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf Championship according to a recent announcement by the league office.
The Braves will host the MVC Championship for the first time since 2007 and fourth time overall, with Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Ill., serving as site for the three-day tournament, April 20-22, 2014. The par-72 course was designed by Hale Irwin and served as site for the LPGA's State Farm Classic from 2007 through 2011.
“We are excited for the opportunity to host the MVC Championship,” said Bradley head coach Mary Swanson. “Panther Creek will be a great test for everyone and should provide a great venue for the event. It is a great opportunity for the players to compete at a venue which has hosted the LPGA Tour.”
Bradley returns its top eight individuals from the 2012-13 squad which finished third at the 2013 MVC Championship this spring, five strokes out of first place. The Braves have finished in the top half at the MVC Championship each of the last three years and have claimed the individual medalist each of the last two times BU has hosted the MVC Championship (2007 & 1999).
