PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley women's golf team will make a rare trip to the Buckeye State, continuing the fall schedule Monday and Tuesday at the Bearcat Classic in Maineville, Ohio.
The Braves are the only Missouri Valley Conference squad in a 15-team field, which includes three teams ranked in Golfweek.com's top 100 in Memphis (33), Toledo (74) and Xavier (89).
Play at the par-72 TPC River's Bend begins Monday at 7:30 a.m. (CDT) with a shotgun start and will feature two rounds. The tournament concludes Tuesday with a single round which will also tee off at 7:30 a.m. (CDT). BradleyBraves.com will provide links to live scoring for all three rounds.
Bradley has not played in the state of Ohio since the fall of 2005 and will be playing in the Buckeye State for just the second time since back-to-back trips to Columbus, Ohio, for the Lady Buckeye Invite during the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons.
In addition to three top 100 squads and tournament-host Cincinnati, Bradley will be joined by Ball State, Bowling Green, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Morehead State, Murray State, Ohio, Southern Miss, UAB and Wofford in the Bearcat Classic field.
Junior Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull), who was named MVC Golfer of the Week Wednesday after she tied for 14th at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo., has carded 75 or lower in eight of nine rounds this fall and owns a 71.50 stroke average in the last two tournaments. Lemek has fired 15 consecutive sub-80 rounds and is one short of matching the longest streak of her career (16). She is the only player in program history to own two streaks of 15 consecutive sub-80 rounds and her current stretch of 15 straight is the fourth longest at Bradley.
Freshman Ally Scaccia (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) has gotten her collegiate career off to a strong start with nine consecutive rounds in the 70's. Scaccia turned in a season-best 70 in the second round at the Johnie Imes Invitational and has been second on the squad in each of her first three tournaments. She ranks second on the team with a 76.22 average this fall. Scaccia is just the fourth Bradley freshman to shoot a 70 or better and is the only Brave to do so in the fall of their freshman season.
Junior Jenna Roadley (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Sturgeon Heights) turned her lowest 54-hole total since last fall with a 226 at the Johnie Imes Invitational and owns a 76.50 average over the last two outings. Roadley needs one sub-80 round to become the 14th individual in program history to shoot 30 career rounds in the 70's or better and is just two sub-80 rounds from tying fellow junior Allison Walsh (Mt. Prospect, Ill./Mt. Prospect) on the career chart at 31.
Freshman Grace Henderson (Peachtree Corners, Ga./Blessed Trinity) is coming off her best outing of the year and has been under 80 in each of her last four rounds. She is fourth on the team with an 80.83 average this fall, but has lowered that to 78.25 per round in the last four efforts.
The Bradley women's golf team is scheduled to conclude the fall schedule Nov. 2-4 at the Pat Bradley Invitational in Sarasota, Fla.
