PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior men's golfer Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after helping the Bradley men's golf team defend its title at the Butler Fall Invitational.
Masrin tied for 14th in the field with a 54-hole score of 222 after firing rounds of 72, 74 and 76. He earned his eighth consecutive top-20 finish in addition to extending his streak of consecutive sub-80 rounds to 25 with a third-round 76. Masrin, who finished the fall with a team-best 74.00 stroke average, moved into ninth in school history with his 77th career round in the 70's or better Tuesday with his final round 76. A business management and administration major, Masrin owns a 3.39 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Masrin and the Braves wrapped up their fall schedule earlier this week at the Butler Fall Invite. They are slated to open the spring schedule Feb. 22-24 at the Snowman Getaway in Goodyear, Ariz.
