Box Score PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley led for most of Friday's Missouri Valley Conference semifinal match against #2 seed SIU Edwardsville after a Cody Lofgren goal in the 22nd minute, but a late Cougar penalty kick equaled the game and another strike in the 85th minute gave SIUE a 2-1 win at Shea Stadium.
Despite being outshot 27-7 in the contest, Bradley led for nearly 60 minutes against SIU Edwardsville. Lofgren gave the Braves a lead in the 22nd minute when he headed home his team-best seventh goal of the year on a Richard Olson cross from the right side to give Bradley a 1-0 lead.
SIU Edwardsville had a 15-4 edge in shots in the first half, but only four Cougar first-half shots were on goal as Bradley net minder Logan Ketterer and the Braves carried a shutout into the break.
Justin Bilyeu knotted things at 1-1 on a penalty kick after he went down in the box in the 79th minute. SIU Edwardsville, which owned a 12-3 advantage in shots in the second half, went in front in the 85th minute when Jabari Danzy tapped home the game-winner on a long cross by Andrew Kendall-Moullin.
With the victory, SIU Edwardsville advances to Sunday's 1 p.m. championship match against #1 seed Missouri State, which posted a 2-0 victory against Loyola earlier in the day.
