Box Score NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma raced to a 22-4 lead to start the game and the host Sooners (3-0) never looked back en route to a 104-55 women's basketball victory against Bradley (0-3) Friday night at Lloyd Noble Center.
Boasting a lineup that features five players who stand at least 6-foot-3, Oklahoma took advantage of its size for a 58-20 advantage in paint scoring. The Sooners' 3-player center rotation - Kaylon Williams (16 points), Vionise Pierre-Louis (8) and McKenna Treece (11) -- combined for 35 points on 15-for-19 field goal shooting. Overall, Oklahoma shot 58.9 percent (43-73) from the field, while Bradley managed to hit at a .262 clip (16-61).
Bradley's lone senior, Michelle Young, also was the lone double-digit scorer for the visitors. Although Young was 2-for-7 from the field, she sank 8-of-12 free throw attempts to finish with 12 points. The Braves played without their early-season scoring and rebounding leader, freshman center Tamya Simms.
Williams led a balanced Oklahoma offense with her 16 points. All 13 Sooners who played scored, including eight of the 13 with at least eight points.
Following Oklahoma's 22-4 outburst to start the game, the Braves settled in and played the Sooners even over the next 14 minutes. But Oklahoma still took a 54-30 lead into halftime, then steadily added to the advantage throughout the second half.
Bradley will continue its season-opening, 5-game road swing with a pair of games in New York next week. The Braves will visit Stony Brook Monday and Columbia Wednesday. Both games are set for 6 p.m. (CDT) tipoffs.
