NEW ORLEANS, La. -- After winning the team title at the Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championship, the Bradley women's cross country squad has climbed into third in the latest Midwest Region ranking announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Monday, while the Bradley men's team is ranked 10th in the Midwest Region.

The third-place regional ranking is the highest in school history for the Bradley women, who claimed the Missouri Valley Conference team title for the first time since 1998 with the Braves boasting three of the top five and four of the top 11 individuals in the field.  Bradley was ranked fourth in the Midwest Region prior to Saturday's title run and overtook Oklahoma State in the poll.  Top-ranked Iowa State held on to the top spot in the Midwest rankings and is followed by Minnesota.

The Bradley men's team matched its best finish in program history at the Valley Championship, taking third.  Southern Illinois, which lost a tie-breaker with Indiana State for the MVC crown, moved into ninth in the latest Midwest Region rankings to bump the Braves to 10th heading into next week's NCAA Regional.

Bradley will host the 2014 NCAA Midwest Regional Friday, Nov. 14 at Newman Golf Course with the women's 6K scheduled for noon and the men's 8K following at 1 p.m.
