PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore Leti Lerma (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) scored a game-high 17 points to pace three Braves in double figures as the Bradley women's basketball team posted a convincing 90-31 exhibition victory against Eureka Friday at Renaissance Coliseum.

Bradley scored the first 10 points of the contest and jumped out to an early 16-1 lead less than six minutes into the contest.  After Eureka pulled to within 10 points at 19-9 with just under 12 minutes left in the first half, the Braves answered with a 15-2 spurt to build a 34-11 advantage and never looked back to win the only exhibition game on the schedule this season.

With only three returning players, the Braves received a combined 58 points, 38 rebounds and 19 steals from the newcomers as all 11 Bradley players who saw action scored four or more points.

Lerma made 7-of-11 shots and also snagged seven rebounds along with three assists to go with her game-high 17 points to help pace three Braves in double figures.  Freshman Tamya Sims (Milwaukee, Wis./Oak Creek) turned in a strong performance in the post, collecting 13 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks and three steals in just 16 minutes.

Freshman Danielle Brewer (Coatesville, Ind.) was the third Bradley player to reach double figures, finishing with 11 points after a nine-point first half. 

Bradley forced 39 Eureka turnovers and limited the Red Devils to 19.5 percent shooting in the victory.  Kelsey Shoemake led Eureka with eight points. 

The Braves open the 2014-15 regular season next Friday with a 7 p.m. contest at 2013-14 Women's Basketball Invitational champion Illinois-Chicago.  All Bradley games during the 2014-15 season will be broadcast on WIRL 1290 AM/102.7 FM.
