PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior guard Fantasia Vine (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after collecting 13 points and eight rebounds against Western Illinois last week.
Vine scored 13 points in 25 minutes in last Tuesday's game against Western Illinois to go with a career-high rebounds. She also turned in her second straight game with at least three steals, coming away with three thefts and one assist vs. the Leathernecks. A social work major, Vine owns a 3.19 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Vine and the Bradley women's basketball team will take on Chicago State Thursday at 11 a.m. in the team's annual Field Trip Day presented by Prairie Farms.
