Kramer Wins Mile; Pribble Claims 3,000 Meters At Iowa Invite

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Freshman Casey Kramer (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville) won the mile and sophomore Caitlin Pribble (Morton, Ill./Morton) claimed the title in the 3,000 meters to help highlight action for the Bradley women's track and field team at the Iowa Invitational Friday.

Kramer won her heat in the mile and was the top performer among 30 entries in the field with a season-best time of 5:07.33 to win the event by one-half second.  She was one of three Braves in the top 11 and five Bradley runners in the top 16 in the event.  Senior Cassie Lohmeier (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) finished sixth overall with a season-best time of 5:12.77 and junior Taylor Johnson (Lincoln, Neb./Southeast) crossed the line at 5:15.12 to take 11th.  In the second heat, freshman Molly Leveille (North Liberty, Iowa/Iowa City West) clocked a time of 5:21.73 to win her heat and finish 13th overall.

Pribble won the 3,000 meters with a season-best effort of 10:38.41 to finish five seconds ahead of second-place finisher Erin Poss of Drake.  She was nine seconds better than her previous season-best time and less than three seconds off her career-best pace.

Freshman Katie Wampole (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) challenged for the title in the 800 meters with a time of 2:21.90 to finish third.  Freshman Megan Price (Avon, Ind./Avon) also turned in a strong effort, posting a 2:28.17 to win her 800 meter heat.

Sophomore Elizabeth Dutcher (Williamston, Mich.,/Williamston) turned in a pair of top five finishes, including a career-best in the long jump to highlight a busy day.  She was fifth in the long jump with a career-best effort of 5.23 meters (17-02.00) for the fourth-best leap in school history.  In the 60-meter hurdles, Dutcher advanced to the finals with a career-best 9.23 seconds and went on to take fifth in the event.  She also posted a sixth-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.45 meters (4-09.00).

Kramer and Leveille teamed with freshmen Lauren Friese (Fairmont, Minn./Fairmont) and Melody Mercado (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) in the 4x400 meter relay to finish fifth with a season-best time of 4:20.85 to conclude the day's action.

The Bradley track and field team will compete at the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Ind., Saturday starting at noon (CST).
