ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Sophomore Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./ Doniphan-Trumbull) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Golf of the Week according to an announcement by the league office Wednesday after tying for fifth at the Islander Classic earlier this week.

The MVC Golfer of the Week honor was Lemek's fourth of 2013-14 and gave her a school record seven career Valley Golfer of the Week awards.  She is the 10th seven-time MVC Golfer of the Week honoree in league history and leads the Valley with a 73.47 stroke average this season.

Lemek posted her sixth consecutive top-10 finish, tying for fifth at the Islander Classic in Corpus Christi, Texas.  She opened the tournament by matching a career-best with a two-under 70 at the par-72 Corpus Christi Country Club and followed it up with rounds of 78 and 75 as she extended her streak of consecutive rounds in the 70's to eight.  Lemek finished four shots back of Oklahoma City's Elia Folch for medalist honors, posting her 12th top-10 finish of her career.

The top-10 finish moved her into a tie with Breanne Neufeld for fifth in school history in the category.  In addition, Lemek fired her 42nd career sub-80 round as she moved into 10th in school history in career rounds in the 70's.

The Bradley women's golf team returns to action March 7-9 at the Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz.
