PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior guard Kelsey Budd (Prairie du Sac, Wis./Sauk Prairie) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after dishing out her 300th career assist in Sunday's win against I-74 rival Illinois State.

Budd averaged 13.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.0 steals, while shooting 46 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc to help the Bradley women's basketball team split a pair of home games.  She had 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting and also collected one board, six assists and one steal against pre-season conference favorite Indiana State.  In Sunday's win against Illinois State, Budd had 15 points, three rebounds, five assists, one block and three steals as she became the 10th player in program history to reach 300 career assists.  A sports communication major, Budd owns a 3.80 cumulative grade point average.  
 
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Budd and the Braves are back in action Friday, playing a 7 p.m. game at league-leading Wichita State.  The game will be available on ESPN3.
