Men's Golf Tied For Sixth At Weibring Intercollegiate

Men's Golf Finishes Seventh; Trolia 11th At Benbow Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Bradley men's golf team carded its lowest round of the spring with a 305 to finish seventh at the Benbow Invitational and junior Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) was 11th in the field to lead the Braves Tuesday.

Trolia was seven shots back of individual medalist Caleb Sibley of Florida Atlantic, who claimed top individual honors with a two-round total of 141.  Trolia's second-round 76 helped him finish with a 36-hole score of 148 as he missed a top-10 finish by one stroke and fired his 24th consecutive round under 80 or better.

Senior Kyle Gunther (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Christian) followed up an opening round 77 with a 78 Tuesday to finish at 155.  Complete individual results were unavailable Tuesday night.  Sophomore Alex Shane (Morton, Ill./Morton/Illinois Central College) shot his lowest round of the spring with a 76 to finish two shots back of Gunther at 157.

Junior Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) finished one shot behind Shane at 158 after shooting an 81 and senior Daniel Young (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) also shot his lowest round of the spring with a three-over par 75 at the par-72 Jacksonville Beach Golf Course to finish up play at 159.

Evansville was one of two teams to shoot par 288 Tuesday and won the team title with a score of 581.  Florida Atlantic was second at 584 and Cleveland State rounded out the top three at 591.  Drake took fourth (595) and IUPUI was four shots back in fifth at 599.  Western Illinois was three shots better than the Braves in sixth at 609.

Bradley's second-round 305 was the lowest round of the spring for the Braves and helped BU hold onto seventh at 612.  Tournament-host Butler and Savannah State tied for eighth, 14 shots behind at 626 and Creighton completed the top 10 at 628. 

The Braves return to Jacksonville, Fla, next week to play a dual against Jacksonville University on Thursday, March 20.
