PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley softball team will make up the third game of the Missouri Valley Conference-opening series at Missouri State Thursday afternoon and this weekend's home-opening series against Evansville has been moved to Evansville, Ind., due to field conditions announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Braves (10-15 overall, 1-1 MVC) had the final game of the weekend series at Missouri State postponed due to weather Sunday. Bradley, which is on spring break, has a pair of mid-week non-conference games in the state of Oklahoma Tuesday and Wednesday and will stop in Springfield, Mo., to close out the series with Missouri State Thursday at 4 p.m.
A record-breaking snowfall total this winter for the Peoria area has prevented preparation for the field at Laura Bradley Park and the weekend home series against Evansville, which was slated to be played Saturday and Sunday in Peoria, has been moved to Evansville, Ind. The series will begin with a noon doubleheader Saturday and the teams will finish out the three-game set with a single game Sunday at noon.
Bradley plays Tuesday night at defending national champion Oklahoma in a 6 p.m. contest televised on Fox Sports Southwest and Fox College Sports. The Braves will also play at 17th-ranked Tulsa Wednesday at 5 p.m. before returning to Springfield, Mo., to face the Lady Bears Thursday. With the home opener relocated to Evansville, Ind., this weekend, Bradley will open the home schedule April 5 & 6 against Loyola at Laura Bradley Park.
