AMES, Iowa - The Bradley women's tennis team won five of the six singles matches to rally for a 5-2 win against South Dakota in a neutral-site match Saturday at the Ames Racquet and Fitness Center.
The Braves (2-6) rebounded from losing 2-of-3 doubles matches by earning straight-sets victories in five singles matches to snap their six-match losing streak.
Senior Adele Henke and freshman Ariel Dechter set the tone by winning their matches by the same scores - 6-1, 6-0 - at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively. After Ashley Thai secured a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles, senior Sarah Rodefeld secured the team win with a 6-4, 7-5 victory at No. 4 singles.
Junior Cassia Wojtalik completed Bradley's scoring with a 7-6 (3), 6-3 win at No. 6 singles.
Bradley will have a week off before resuming its season-long, 7-match road trip March 14 at Dayton (2 p.m.) and March 15 at Wright State (2:30 p.m.).
