PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Junior Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) extended his streak of consecutive rounds in the 70's to 26 with rounds of 73 and 75, but Bradley fell to Jacksonville by the score of 600-612 in a dual Thursday at the par-72 Marsh Landing Country Club.
Bradley shot its lowest round of the spring in the opener with a 299, but Jacksonville was one shot better at 298 and the Dolphins followed it up with a 302 in the afternoon round. The Braves shot 313 in the second round to finish 12 shots behind Jacksonville in the dual.
Trolia was Bradley's top performer, finishing three shots behind Jacksonville's top finisher. His rounds of 73 and 75 moved him into a tie for 15th in school history for career sub-80 rounds at 64 as he finished with a two-round total of 148.
Sophomore Alex Shane (Morton, Ill./Morton/Illinois Central College) carded the low round of the day for the Braves with a season-best, one-under par 71. Shane followed it up with an 80 and was three shots behind Trolia at 151.
Junior Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) matched his lowest round of the spring with a 77 to open the day and shot 78 in the afternoon as he was four shots back of Shane at 155. Senior Kyle Gunther (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Christian) shot 158 for the dual with rounds of 78 and 80, while fellow senior Daniel Young (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) was at 163 with scores of 82 and 81 to round out the team scoring.
Sophomore Garrett Cox (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) was Bradley's top individual in the dual following a first-round 80 with a season-best 75.
Bradley returns to action at the Beu Mussatto Invitational in Macomb, Ill., March 31 and April 1.
