Bradley (13-17 overall, 4-1 MVC) scored all the runs it would need in the bottom of the first with a four-run inning. Senior Brianne Joseph (Post Falls, Idaho/Post Falls) scored on a wild pitch with the bases loaded and Lynch-Crumrine highlighted the four-run frame with a three-run homer to center field.
The Braves added two more runs in the bottom of the second to push the advantage to 6-0. With two outs and the bases loaded, Lynch-Crumrine drove in her fourth and fifth runs of the game with a two-run single to right. A two-out run in the fourth gave Bradley a 7-0 lead when senior Alex Chandler (Needles, Calif./Needles) had a RBI single to third base.
Evansville got its first hit of the game off Lynch-Crumrine with a solo homer by Kristen O'Conner in the top of the fifth and a bunt single later in the frame was the only other hit of the contest for the Purple Aces, who trailed 7-1 heading to the bottom of the sixth.
Lynch-Crumrine drove in her career-best sixth run of the game and capped a 4-for-4 day at the plate with a two-out RBI single to center in the BU half of the sixth. Bradley loaded the bases with back-to-back walks and sophomore Kendall Duffy (Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy) ended a 10-1 Bradley victory with a two-run single to center. In addition to the strong offensive outing, Lynch-Crumrine struck out six and walked two in the circle as she earned the complete game victory. Evansville's Briana Combs took the loss in the opener to drop to 3-2 on the year.
In the nightcap, Bradley took advantage of three Evansville errors to score three unearned runs and pull out a 3-1 victory. The Purple Aces jumped out to an early lead on a Kayla Fortner solo homer in the top of the first to take a 1-0 lead.
The Braves answered with an unearned run in the bottom half of the inning. Senior Mariah Cole (Springfield, Ill./Catham Glenwood) had a bunt single to lead off the frame and moved to third on a groundout and wild pitch. Evansville appeared to get out of the inning with a strikeout, but Cole scored when Lynch-Crumrine reached with two outs on a dropped third strike to even the score at 1-1.
Bradley capitalized on another UE error in the bottom of the second. Junior Shannon King (San Jose, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) walked to lead off the inning and scored on an Evansville error following a Brittany Burgess (Utica, Ill./St./ Bede) single as the Braves went in front 2-1.
BU starter Jaelen Hull (Clifton, Ill./Bishop McNamara) pitched around a leadoff walk in the third and got out of a bases loaded jam with only one out in the fourth.
The Braves loaded the bases with one out in the sixth on a single, error and walk for sophomore Kathryn Spenn (Williamsville, Ill./Williamsville), who drove in an insurance run when she was hit by a pitch to give her squad a 3-1 advantage.
Evansville had its leadoff batter on in the top of the seventh after a Bradley error, but Hull retired the next three hitters she faced and fanned a season-best seven in the complete game win as she improved to 3-9. Megan Gurski suffered the loss for the Purple Aces to fall to 4-5.
Bradley and Evansville close out the three-game series Sunday with a noon game at Cooper Stadium in Evansville, Ind.
