NORMAL, Ill. – Junior Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) shot his lowest round of the spring with a three-over par 74 to lead the Bradley men's golf team against Illinois State Saturday afternoon at the I-74 Individual Challenge.
Masrin tied for second overall with a 74 Saturday to finish one shot behind individual medalist Tyler Gentilella of Illinois State as he was one of three Braves to turn in their lowest rounds of the spring at the par-71 Weibring Golf Course. Fellow junior Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) was one shot behind Masrin in a tie for fourth at 75, firing his 27th consecutive round in the 70's or better.
Senior Andrew Weisenborn (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) carded his lowest round of the spring season with a five-over 76 to tie for sixth overall, while senior Daniel Young (Metamora, Ill./Metamora), sophomore Alex Shane (Morton, Ill./Morton/Illinois Central College) and freshman Bobby Jacobs (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) each shot 77 to tie for eighth. The 77 was the lowest round of the spring campaign for Jacobs.
Senior Kyle Gunther (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Christian) was one of seven Bradley individuals to card a sub-80 round, with a 79 to finish 12th overall.
The Bradley men's golf team returns to action Monday and Tuesday at the Beu Mussatto Invitational in Macomb, Ill.
