Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Bradley managed just four hits off Arkansas starter Grace Moll and leadoff hitter Devon Wallace went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBI to help power the Razorbacks to a 9-1 victory against the Braves Saturday afternoon to wrap up the Razorback Invitational.
Moll allowed three of Bradley's four hits in the first three innings and the Braves (9-14 overall) held a 1-0 lead heading to the bottom of the third. Senior Brianne Joseph (Post Falls, Idaho/Post Falls) followed back-to-back one-out walks with a RBI single in the top of the third to give Bradley an early 1-0 advantage.
Arkansas (18-5 overall) answered with three runs in the bottom half of the inning, however. With one out and runners at second and third Clarisa Navarro tied the score at 1-1 with a RBI groundout. Amanda Geile gave the Razorbacks a 2-1 lead with a RBI single through the left side and Bradley trailed 3-1 after a Chloe Oprzedek RBI single up the middle.
Wallace highlighted a four-run fourth inning for Arkansas with a three-run homer as she helped Arkansas extend the advantage to 7-1.
After surrendering the run in the third, Moll retired nine consecutive batters before giving up a two-out single the top of the sixth. The Razorbacks got out of the inning without giving up a run and ended the game with two runs in the bottom half of the frame. Stephanie Canfield led off the inning with a single and came around to score on a Kasey Fagan double. Fagan later scored on a RBI single off the bat of Navarro to close out the 9-1 Arkansas win.
Freshman Jaelen Hull (Clifton, Ill./Bishop McNamara) took the loss for the Braves to drop to 2-7 on the season. Moll earned the victory for Arkansas as she improved her record to 8-2.
Bradley opens the Missouri Valley Conference schedule next weekend, starting a three-game series at Missouri State with a noon doubleheader Saturday in Springfield, Mo.
