PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore women's golfer Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after winning medalist honors at the Indiana State Invitational.

Lemek won top individual honors at a tournament for the second time this season and earned her school career record fifth individual title by claiming medalist honors at the Indiana State Invitational Monday.  She closed out play at the par-72 Country Club of Terre Haute with a 72 to finish at 146 and edge first-round leader Myriam Hassan of William Woods by one stroke.  Lemek broke the Bradley season record with her eighth top-10 finish of the year and topped Meaghan LeBlanc's previous school record of four career individual titles from 2002-06 with the victory at Indiana State.  She lowered her season stroke average to a league-best 73.96 per round.  A marketing major, Lemek owns a 3.26 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Lemek and the Bradley women's golf team are back in action at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship Sunday through Tuesday at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Ill.
