PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior men's golfer Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after tying for fifth at the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship.
Masrin, who earned All-Missouri Valley Conference honors, tied for fifth at the league championship earlier this week at the par-71 TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. The fifth-place finish was the best by a Bradley men's golfer at the MVC Championship since 2005 and he helped the Braves finish third overall for the team's best showing at the Valley Championship since 1986. Masrin finished with a 54-hole total of 221 (75-72-74) to close the year with a 74.93 season stroke average, which ranks eighth among Bradley season marks. A business management and administration major, Masrin owns a 3.41 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
