STANFORD, Calif. – Sophomore Emily Delvo ran a career-best time in the 800 meters, while twin brother Eric Delvo posted a season-best time in the same event to wrap up Saturday's action for the Bradley track and field teams at the Stanford Invitational Saturday.
In addition to the performances by the Delvo twins in California, junior Aaron Peck helped highlight the day's activities at the EIU Big Blue Classic in Charleston, Ill., with a career-best time in the 800 meters.
Emily Delvo posted the third-best time in school history in the 800 meters, finishing sixth in her heat with a career-best time of 2:10.34. Eric Delvo was the only other Bradley runner at the Stanford Invitational Saturday and was eighth in his 800 meter heat with a season-best effort of 1:55.98.
Peck took seventh in the 800 meters at the EIU Big Blue Classic at 1:54.46, clocking the seventh-best 800 meter time in program history.
Freshman Casey Kramer was the top finisher for the Bradley women in the 800 meters in Charleston, Ill., taking 21st at 2:19.71 and junior Taylor Johnson was on her heals in 22nd at 2:19.90.
In the women's 1,500 meters, junior Kyela Specht crossed the line at 4:44.59 to finish 16th, while senior Cassie Lohmeier placed 18th at 4:45.87. Sophomore Cole Dill paced the Bradley men in the 1,500 meters with a season-best time of 4:02.34.
The Bradley men's and women's track and field teams are back in action Friday at the Illinois Twilight in Champaign, Ill.
