PEORIA, Ill -- After having to move indoors due to more unseasonably cool temperatures, the Bradley women's tennis team lost its Missouri Valley Conference home opener to 50th-ranked Wichita State 6-0 Saturday at the Clubs at River City North.
After quickly sweeping the doubles point, the Shockers (13-6, 2-0) took the first four singles matches to secure the victory. Freshman Ariel Dechter gave the Braves (4-11, 0-2) their best chance for a point, but she lost her No. 1 singles match 6-4, 4-6, 10-12 in three hard-fought sets.
The Braves get right back to action Sunday, when they play their final non-conference match of the spring dual season, hosting Omaha at noon on campus at the David Markin Tennis Courts.
