Men's Golf Set For Weibring Intercollegiate

Trolia Claims Medalist Honors; Braves Tie For Third At Bradley Invite

PEKIN, Ill. -- Junior Seth Trolia shot a career-best, four-under par 68 Sunday to claim medalist honors at the Bradley Invitational and the Bradley men's golf team tied for third Sunday at the par-72 Pekin Country Club.

Trolia entered Sunday's round tied for second, two shots back of day-one leader Jacob Groninger of IPFW, and fired a career-low 68 on the final day of play to earn medalist honors for the second time this season with a two-round total of five-under 139.  Groninger was second in the final individual standings at three-under 141.  Trolia's 68 tied for the sixth lowest round in school history and matched the best round of the year by a Bradley individual. 

Evansville had three individuals in the top 10 and claimed the team title by five shots after shooting a one-over 289 Sunday to finish at 579.  Loyola was second overall at 584, while Bradley and Detroit tied for third in the team standings at 586.  Western Illinois was nine shots back of Bradley and Detroit in fifth at 595 and Green Bay was sixth at 599.  IPFW finished seventh at 601 with Northern Iowa rounding out the field in eighth at 626.

Senior Kyle Gunther fired a 76 and was eight shots back of Trolia in a tie for 12th as he finished one shot out of the top 10.  Junior Danny Masrin matched his lowest round of the spring with a one-over 73 and tied for 14th at 148. 

Senior Daniel Young tied for 28th at 152, shooting an 80 in the final round, while sophomore Alex Shane matched Young's second-round 80.  Shane tied for 35th at 155 to round out the team scoring for the Braves. 

Freshman Bobby Jacobs was in the field as an individual and tied for 19th at 149 after shooting a 76 as he posted his second top-20 finish of the year.  Sophomore Garrett Cox fired his lowest round of the season with a two-over 74 to tie for 24th (151) and John Fortuna was 46th overall at 166, turning in a final round 85.

The Bradley men's golf team plays its final tournament before the Missouri Valley Conference Championship later this month, April 12 & 13 at the Bluegrass Invitational in Lexington, Ky.
