PEORIA, Ill. – Senior pitcher/designated player Madeline Lynch-Crumrine (Sedro-Woolley, Wash./Sedro-Woolley) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping the Bradley Softball team win the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
Lynch-Crumrine was named MVP of the MVC Tournament after helping Bradley to its second Valley Tournament title and NCAA Tournament trip. She started all three games in the circle for the Braves, posting a 2-0 record with a 1.98 ERA over 17.2 innings of work. She also went 3-for-11 with a run scored and an RBI in the three games. A psychology major, Lynch-Crumrine owns a 3.29 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Lynch-Crumrine and the Braves will face #15 national seed Missouri Friday in the opening round of the Columbia Regional at 3 p.m. Bradley will play either 19th-ranked Nebraska or Kansas Saturday afternoon in Columbia, Mo.
