PEORIA, Ill. – Sophomore Kristen Busch (Waterloo, Ill./Freeburg) qualified for next week's NCAA West Preliminary in both the women's 10,000 meters and 5,000 meters, while juniors Chase Coffey (Hanna City, Ill./Farmington) and Eric Delvo (Springfield, Ill./Sacred Heart Griffin) will run in the men's steeplechase announced Thursday afternoon.

Busch would be the first female Bradley runner to compete in two events at the NCAA Outdoor Championship.  The Bradley women's team will have an individual running at the NCAA Prelims for the second straight year and fourth time in the last five years.

The combo of Coffey and Delvo would be the first Bradley men to advance to an NCAA Championship since the program was reinstated for the 2012 Outdoor Track & Field season and first since Jim Potter competed in the high jump back in the mid 1970's.

The NCAA West Preliminary will be held May 29-31 at the University of Arkansas' John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Ark.

The MVC 10,000 meter champ, Busch is slated to run in the women's 10,000 meters Thursday, May 29 at 9:40 p.m. with her school record time of 33:48.36 ranking ninth among those who earned a spot in the field.  The women's 5,000 meters is scheduled for Saturday, May 31 at 8:45 p.m.  The top 12 in the 10,000 meters will advance to the NCAA Championship in Eugene, Ore., June 11-14.

"This is a very exciting time for our program,” said Bradley head coach Marc Burns.  “We have three Braves at the NCAA meet and two more that just missed making the meet.  All three have a legitimate chance to advance to Eugene.  I am very proud of the team's accomplishments this year.  We are making significant progress and are looking forward to seeing what these three can do in Fayetteville."

The men's steeplechase will be held Friday, May 30 at 8:50 p.m.  Coffey's school record time of 8:53.13 from earlier this year is 18th in the nation, while Delvo's career-best effort of 8:56.61 set at last week's MVC Outdoor Championship is 28th in the 48-person field.
