LINCOLN, Neb. -- Junior women's golfer Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) turned in another dominating performance, winning the Nebraska Women's Amateur Golf Association's State Amateur Championship by five strokes.

Lemek was four shots off the lead after Monday's opening round of 76, but came back Tuesday to shoot a four-under 68 to take over the top spot on the leaderboard heading into Wednesday's final round.  The second-round 68 was the low round of the tournament and gave Lemek a three-shot lead on the field after 36 holes.

In the final round, Lemek tied for low round honors with a 72 at the par-72 Hidden Valley Golf Club to claim the Nebraska State Amateur crown with a three-round total of 216.  Morgan Smejkal, a junior on the Nebraska women's golf team, was second in the standings at 221 after shooting a final round 74.

The NWAGA State Amateur title comes three weeks after Lemek earned her second straight NWAGA Stroke Play Championship by an impressive 11 strokes.  She was third at last year's NWAGA State Amateur.

Lemek is scheduled to play in a U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier in Kansas City, Mo., July 15.
