After posting the team's best finish at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship in nearly 30 years with the Bradley men's golf team finishing third at the league championship last spring, the Braves have finished in the top four at the Valley Championship each of the past two seasons.  Led by seniors Seth Trolia and Danny Masrin, Bradley will open the 2014-15 season Sept. 1 & 2 at the Loyola Invitational in Kohler, Wis.

Head coach Jeff Roche recaps the 2013-14 season and looks ahead to the upcoming school year in the attached video piece.

2013-14 Bradley Men's Golf Recap
• Bradley finished third at the MVC Championship for the team's best finish since a second-place showing in 1986 and the Braves have finished in the top four at the league championship in back-to-back seasons for the first time since placing in the top three from 1984-86.
• Danny Masrin tied for fifth at the MVC Championship for the best individual finish by a Brave since 2005.
• Bradley had a pair of individuals finish in the top 10 at the league championship for the first time since 1995, with Kyle Gunther tying for eighth to join Masrin in the top 10.
• The Braves shot the lowest round in school history at the MVC Championship with a second round 291 and the team's 54-hole total of 897 (305-291-301) was the lowest total in program history at the Valley Championship.
• As a team, Bradley's 76.70 per-round average was the lowest in school history, breaking the previous mark of 77.41 from 1967-68
• In addition to shooting the lowest round (279) in school history, Bradley shot four of the lowest eight team scores in school history and six of the lowest 17 rounds in program history.  The previous record round for the Braves was 282 shot previously at WeaverRidge (4/7/13) and at the Murray State Invitational (10/3/06).

Individual Notes
• Danny Masrin fired a 221 at the MVC Championship to tie for fifth and earn All-Valley honors.  He closed the year with a 74.93 stroke average which was second on the team and eighth among Bradley season marks.  Masrin was also named a First-Team MVC Scholar-Athlete.
• Seth Trolia led the squad with a 74.79 stroke average and was one of three Braves to earn MVC Golfer of the Week honors during the year.  Trolia's average ranks fifth among season records and was the lowest by a Bradley men's golfer since Andy Michelson shot a school record 73.28 in 2002-03.
• Kyle Gunther was third on the team with a 75.82 stroke average, which ranked 11th in school history.
• Daniel Young finished his career tied for ninth with 74 career rounds in the 70's or better and his 111 career rounds played is 13th in school history.

Multiple Titles
• Bradley won the Butler Fall Invitational with Danny Masrin claiming medalist honors at the event.  The Braves shot a school record one-under 279 in the opening round of the Butler Invite and went on to win their first tournament title since the fall of 1996.  Masrin was named MVC Golfer of the Week after winning the Butler Invitational.
• In the spring, Bradley claimed the team title at the 42nd annual Beu Mussatto Invitational in Macomb, Ill., as the Braves won two tournaments in the same school year for the first time since 1995-96.
• Seth Trolia won a pair of medalist titles, claiming top individual honors at the Weibring Intercollegiate in the fall and the Bradley Invitational during the spring.  He claimed MVC Golfer of the Week honors following both individual wins.
• Alex Shane also won a MVC Golfer of the Week honor in 2013-14 after he tied for third at the Beu Mussatto Invitational and helped the Braves to the team title.

Looking Ahead to 2014-15
• The Braves return five of eight letterwinners, including the top two in stroke average.  Three of the top four individuals in stroke average help highlight the returning cast for Bradley in 2014-15.
• Joining the squad in 2014-15 will be honorable mention NJCAA Division II All-America Lyle Burns, who was teammates with senior Seth Trolia and junior Garrett Cox at Seymour High School.
• The Braves will also add all-state performer Daniel Lensing from Spring Park, Minn., and freshman Matthew Specht (Munster, Ind.), the younger brother of Kyela, who is a senior on Bradley's women's cross country/track team.
