Full Slate of Activity Set for Dahlquist Game

PEORIA, Ill. - The "Battle of Champions" Danny Dahlquist Memorial Game between defending national champion Notre Dame and defending Missouri Valley Conference Tournament champion Bradley will feature a World Cup theme, capping a full day of activity surrounding the men's soccer exhibition Tuesday.

Tuesday's game will feature many promotions to enhance the fan experience, as well as remote parking and a warm-up reserve game:

  • Pregame tailgating at Shea Stadium. Limited space remains and may be reserved for $10 by contacting Jack Craig at (309) 677-3636.
  • Local radio stations ESPN 96.5 (3-5 p.m.) and KISS-FM 98.5 (5-7 p.m.) will broadcast live from Shea Stadium's tailgate area Tuesday.
  • The first 1000 fans will receive free thundersticks, presented by Hotels at Grand Prairie.
  • The first 500 members of Bradley University's Greek Life will receive free vuvuzelas, courtesy of the Division of Student Affairs.
  • The Shea Stadium concourse will be home to a Braves Fun Zone with inflatables and face-painting stations.
  • Overflow parking will be available at the Peoria Park District's Corn Stock Theater in Laura Bradley Park with a free shuttle bus to Shea Stadium.
  • Pregame festivities will include a World Cup-style walkout and flag presentation, featuring 100 local youth

Tuesday's lineup of activities will begin with the annual Braves Club Soccer Gameday Luncheon, featuring head coaches Bobby Clark and Jim DeRose. The luncheon will be held in Bradley University's Michel Student Center Ballroom with doors opening at 11:15 a.m. and the speaking program to begin at noon. Luncheon tickets are $20 for Braves Club members, $25 for the general public and may be reserved in advance by contacting the Braves Club Office at (309) 677-2667. The two opponents also will participate in a 60-minute reserve game at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Shea Stadium and the feature game is slated for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

All seating for Bradley Soccer games is general admission with bleacher seating along the east sideline and lawn seating available in both endzones. Tickets for Tuesday's Danny Dahlquist Memorial Game are $10 for individuals and $6 each for groups of 15 or more. With advance sales for Tuesday's game already approaching 2000, fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at the Bradley Athletics Ticket Office at Renaissance Coliseum, which will be open until 4:30 p.m. Friday and will be open 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Bradley Soccer season tickets, which include Tuesday's game against Notre Dame, are $40 for adults and free for children in eighth grade and younger with free registration in the Little Braves Club. The $40 season ticket price is a 43 percent savings compared to single-game purchases for the 11-game Bradley Soccer schedule and includes two free Bradley pilsner glasses (while supplies last).
