PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) looks to defend his individual title when the Bradley men's golf team makes the trip down I-74 for the Weibring Intercollegiate in Normal, Ill., Sunday and Monday.

Trolia, who owns a 74.11 career stroke average over three events at the par-71 Weibring Golf Club, was co-medalist at last year's Weibring Intercollegiate and helped the Braves tie for seventh in the tournament last fall.  The Weibring Intercollegiate has been a frequent stop for Bradley, which will be playing in the event for the eighth consecutive and 11th time in the last 14 seasons.

Eight of nine Missouri Valley Conference squads help make up the 15-team field with league rivals Drake, Evansville, Illinois State, Loyola, Missouri State, Northern Iowa and Southern Illinois all slated to compete.  In-state foes DePaul, SIU Edwardsville and Western Illinois are also in a field which features Butler, Central Arkansas, Detroit and Texas-Pan American.

The teams will play two rounds Sunday starting at 8:30 a.m. and conclude the event with a single round Monday featuring an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start.  BradleyBraves.com will provide a link to live scoring for the 54-hole event.

Trolia is one of four Braves to have played in the Weibring Intercollegiate and opened last year's even with a two-under par 69 en route to co-medalist honors.  He has finished in the top 20 in two of his three outings at the Weibring Golf Club and enters the weekend tied for fifth in school history with 79 career sub-80 rounds.

Fellow senior Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) tied for 23rd as a sophomore for his best showing at the Weibring Intercollegiate and owns a 77.22 career average in the event.  He tied for 18th at the Derek Dolenc Invitational earlier this week in his first outing of the year and needs one sub-80 round to become the 12th player in school history with 70 career rounds in the 70's or better.

Sophomore Bobby Jacobs (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) carded a 72 in the opening round of last year's Weibring Intercollegiate and went on to tie for 26th in the field.  Junior Garrett Cox (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) played at Weibring as a freshman in 2012-13, firing his lowest round of the fall with a second-round 75.

The Braves have gotten significant contributions from newcomers early on in 2014-15 with junior Lyle Burns (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour/Parkland C.C.) matching a school record with a six-under par 66 Tuesday in the final round at the Derek Dolenc Invitational in Edwardsville, Ill.

In addition, freshman Daniel Lensing (Spring Park, Minn./Orono) tied for third at the season opening Whistling Straits Invitational in Kohler, Wis., with a three-round total of 219 which is the lowest 54-hole score by a Bradley freshman in school history.

The Weibring Intercollegiate marks the halfway point of the 2014 Fall schedule for the Braves, who will be back in action Sept. 28-30 at the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wis.
