PEORIA, Ill. -- After opening the 2014-15 season at a familiar course, the Bradley women's golf team will make a rare trip to the state of Kentucky for the Cardinal Cup in Simpsonville, Ky., Monday and Tuesday.

The Braves have played in the Bluegrass State just one other time since the 1998-99 campaign when they took part in the Cardinal Cup in the fall of 2012.

The Cardinal Cup begins Monday with two rounds of play at the par-72 University of Louisville Golf Club starting at 7:30 a.m. (CDT).  Tuesday's final round is also slated to tee off at 7:30 a.m. (CDT).  Joining Bradley in the 16-team field are I-74 rival Illinois State and 2014 NCAA Regional participants Louisville, Murray State and Tennessee-Chattanooga in addition to Mid-American Conference foes Akron, Ball State and Northern Illinois.

The tournament field also includes Cincinnati, Georgia State, James Madison, Kennesaw State, Longwood, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech.

Junior Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) started the 2014-15 season on a strong note at the Redbird Invitational, where she tied for second in the field with an eight-over par 224.  Lemek tied for 21st as a freshman at the Cardinal Cup to pace the Braves in their last trip to Louisville, Ky.  With nine consecutive sub-80 rounds, Lemek has moved into a tie with Rikki Sobel for fifth in school history with 56 career rounds in the 70's or better.

Fellow junior Jenna Roadley (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Sturgeon Heights) opened play at the 2012 Cardinal Cup with a 78 and went on to tie for 43rd at 240.  She tied for 50th at the Redbird Invitational earlier this week to kick off the 2014-15 season.  Roadley is one sub-80 round short of becoming the 16th individual in program history with 25 career rounds in the 70's or better.

Sophomore Paige Jordan (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) was three shots better than Roadley at the Redbird Invitational, using a 76 and 79 in the final two rounds to climb into a tie for 38th overall at 236.

Freshman Ally Scaccia (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) is coming off a strong collegiate debut after she tied for 15th at the Redbird Invitational as an individual.  Scaccia, who was 26th after opening rounds of 76 and 79, climbed into the top 15 in the field with a two-over 74 in the final round to finish at 229.  She was two shots out of the top 10.

Following the Cardinal Cup, Bradley hits the halfway point of the fall schedule Sept. 29 & 30 at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
